Spreading hope through chatbot technology
A beta version of Hope the Chatbot has been enabled at this link.

Hopebot.org was registered over seven years ago, with a mission of bringing chatbot technology to the practice of sharing faith, hope, and love.
At the time, I focused on Facebook Messenger, where some early chatbots were active and where some cool tools were available to build one’s own bot.
Using those 2017-era tools, I ultimately found it too difficult, with my own limited skills, to deploy anything I could be pleased with, anything that would meet even a minimum standard of usefulness in the space of religious conversations.
Fast-forward a few years and, as you may have seen, large language models, such as ChatGPT, have taken the world by storm, and display impressive capabilities. And they can be customized for a variety of purposes. In the summer of 2024 I became motivated to dust off this old project (I hadn’t had the heart to let the domain go). So we are back in development.
If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, etc., you can write to admin at hopebot dot org.
Stay tuned – a link to an early development version of Hopebot is coming soon.
